Exactly, I had a good time more than difficult time when I wrote my research paper because I really want to do this research paper. Therefore, when I faced the difficulties, I did not think that it was a problem. I just solved the problems and did it in a correct way. Now I have known how to write the good research paper even though my research paper this time is not a perfect one. However, I will try to do my best the next time when I have to write the research paper again. I would like to say thank you so much Ms. Azimi because you are a good instructor. You always give me many good suggestions. I think I get successful for my research paper. Although it is not a big success, I am so proud of my attention. This is a basic thing that will lead me to write a great research paper when I study in the university. Moreover, I got a lot of new knowledge while researching and writing my research paper. First time, I thought that I knew a lot about my topic: Benefits of Eating Brown Rice. However, when I searched more information for my research paper, I wondered that there are a lot of things about benefits of brown rice that I did not know before. For example, I have already known that it has more nutritional value than regular rice, and it can help people to control weight because of a lot of fiber that it contains. Also, I have already known that it may help people stay away from some diseases, but I did not know that it has great benefits to protect people from a lot of diseases.

Under Siege

There was a sergeant who killed the captain and brought his member to take over the marine ship of the government. He also arrested a hero who was a cooker in the cooking room before he and his group took over the marine ship. A group of bad guys wanted a lot of money from the government. They contacted and threatened the government. If the government does not pay them a lot of money, they are going to use the missile in order to destroy the city. However, the hero could escape from arrest and contacted with the government. Therefore, the government had a hope to keep both money and the city. The hero released some marines that were arrested and they helped each other to fight with the bad guys. Ultimately, the hero and his group won and all of the bad guys were killed. Also, the hero could destroy the missile that was already released to destroy the city.

I really like this movie because I like action movie. It can make me feel excited when I saw this movie. However, I think that it is a little bit more over action. The hero was shot many times, but he had never gotten the shot. Also, he had never gotten hurt. In contrast, when the hero shot the bad guys, they are going to die or get hurt every time. I have known that a style of action movie is the hero always win and still stay alive at the end. I can guess that what is going on from the beginning. However, I still like to watch the action movie.

My research topic is the benefit of eating brown rice. I should this topic because my major is food technology, so I am interested in food. Even though there are many kinds of food to choose to do the research, I chose to research about brown rice because I think that in the present, people are concerned about their health. Also, I am an Asian that eats rice to be a staple food, so I think that it is important to eat a healthy food every single day. When I researched my topic, I still have not wanted the librarian to help me because I still have not had any problems about how to find the information. I did not mean that I am an expert, and I do not want other people to help me, but the first time when I had a problem, I asked Ms. Azimi. Also, she helped me, so I have known that how I can find the information. Moreover, Ms. Azimi invited the librarian to instruct the students about how to search the information, so I have known about this. However, I think that I will want the librarians to help me in the future, and I think that they will help me as much as they can. In addition, when I researched my topic, I got many rewards. The important thing is I have known that how to find the information on the Internet. This is the most important thing because this can help me when I study in the university and have to find the information for my research. Furthermore, I have gotten more knowledge about brown rice. The first time, I knew that brown rice has a lot of benefit, but I did not know that what exactly benefits it is and how many benefits it has. However, I have known more about this when I have researched my topic. Ultimately, I still have not gotten any frustration because I love to research about this topic. Indeed, I will try to do a great job for my research paper as much as I can. I promise!

Obama Wright mentioned about low class and slaves at the first of his speech. I think that he care about people who lack of opportunity. He talked about crime that will happen from low class people. Also, he paid more attention to talk about black and white people. He disagreed with his pastor because the pastor taught people that white people are better than black people. He think that pastors do not have the right to teach people about which race is better than the others. If pastors teach people about this, it can make black people become anger. He said that US problem are neither black nor white nor Latino nor Asian because he wanted to tell the audiences that we should not separate other people by their race. Everyone has the equal right. He thinks that if people are treated different from the others, they will never be able to come together. He said that many black men still lack of opportunity. Many blacks are still treated in different way from white people. I think he believe that if American still think about the race, people in this country will never be happy. In my opinion, he talked about the race because he think that the race have been changed by law for a long time, but in the people’s mind still separate and think about the race.

In the present, the problems from the Internet affect many people in the world because the world in the present is a global network. Most people use the Internet to communicate each other and find some information. Also, many people use the Internet to pay their bill. If there are some problem happened to the Internet, it can hurt people. For example, if the Internet out of order, people who want to pay bill immediately will hurt because they cannot do that. Also, they might be charged for extra money because they pay lately. Although, the Internet sometimes affects a big problem, people still prefer using this high technology in many ways. Therefore, the communication companies should try to fix the problems that may happen to the Internet. Moreover, I have some opinions about some topics should be banned on the Internet including all of the communicating ways. I think that people who release some topic to the public should be concerned that it is suitable to public that or not because it may hurt or affect others. Also, it is good that the government and all of communication companies mention watching and having the rule to protect people from the unsuitable topic. People should deny accepting the bad information, but people sometimes don’t know that the information is good or bad. Therefore, the communication companies are responsible for releasing all of the information. It is important for everyone to respect others’ right. People should not take the right or hurt others for their advantages. A friend is a person who has main three characteristics. Friend has important role to the most people. Each other may have different ideas about friend. However, in my opinion friend should has main three characteristics. First, friend should understand each other. Friend is who you can talk everything. You are going to feel comfortable and happy when you talk with your friend. You sometime have humor inside with each other. Humor inside is something that you and your friend know, but other people don't know. When you say something, your friend gets it and feels funny. However, other people don't understand what you meant. Second, friend should has the honesty. It is an important thing that friend should has it. This characteristic has quite close relation with the first characteristic. You can talk everything to your friend and feel comfortable every time because you trust in your friend. The reasons are the friend don't lie each other, don't cheating, and don't fake. Friend has to say the truth. If you know later on that your friend lies you, next time you cannot believe when your friend say something. Also, you don't want to talk with people that lie you any more. Besides don't lie, to keep secrets is another thing that friend should do it. When you trust someone, you want to say anything with them that sometime you don't want other to know. That is why friend should keep secret. Finally, friend should help each other. When you get trouble, you want someone to help. Also, friend is who you think and want him or her to help you. You can know each other more when you have a problem. Since real friends always want to help you everything and everyway that they can. Helping each other is sometime just talk and advice some ideas. That is enough because when you get a hard time, you cannot think anything. You want someone to tell you that how you should do. Also, you sometime feel bad and want someone to talk together. Friend can talk something that make you feel better. I heard proverb about friend, and I think it is a good idea that I want to tell everyone. My perfect love.

My perfect love was my second ex-boyfriend. I cannot say that he was my really perfect love because we already broke up, but I believe that I am going to meet my perfect love in the near future. I really hope so. However, if I have to say about who my perfect love is, I have to say that my second ex-boyfriend was my perfect love that I had ever met because I don't have any boyfriend now. I really like his personality and the way that he treated to me. He is a very kind person. He is a gentleman. He is very polite, and he always took care of me. He called me every single day. When I got sick, he brought me to the hospital and waited for me until I met and talked to a doctor. He picked me up to school and dropped me off to home everyday when he still is my boyfriend. I really appreciate about this because his home is so far away from my home, but he came to take care of me everyday. He used to wait for me for an hour when we had appointment, but I did not come on time. Also, he has never complained about this, and he could wait for me when I had something to do and it took so long time. However, there was something that it made me to break up with him. I knew that he liked me and really cared of me, but he also liked other women too. Also, I can't stand about this. I talked to him about this before we broke up. He told me that it is very simple for guy to have other women, but I am his real one. He told me that I don't have to care about this because he loves me more than other. I think this was so weird. I told him that I don't want to be the first one, but I want to be only one. Therefore, we broke up. He still sent the flower to me in Valentine day last year after we broke up because he wanted to return again. However, I don't want to do that. I think it is enough between me and him. Although I don't have any boyfriend to celebrate with in this Valentine day, I am happy to celebrate Valentine day with my friend.

This article is very interesting and helpful for every student who enter to the college. There are three strategies that help students to cope the problems and survive in college under the circumstances. These include time management, goal setting and art of mastery. If the students use these strategies, I think that they can survive in college. I already graduated Bachelor degree in my country, and nobody or any article told me about how to survive in university. However, I learned to cope the problems by myself because the situations compelled me to survive in university and I had to do a good job. Since I am an only child, and my parents really want me to succeed in my life. In my opinion, I agree with this article about the first year in university. Freshmen usually have more problem about how to survive in college than other because they are not familair to college. They just went over from high school. They have to adjust themselves. Also, I believe that if the students can cope the problems very well in first year, they will succeed and do a great job in college. In my experience,the students may face the problems again when they are senior because they have to do a project or some job that usually not easy for finishing their college. I got very stress when I was senior because I will graduate or not depend on this year.

Three Reasons to Take A Bus

Transportation is an important thing that people often think about. Everyone needs transportation. Some people have to go to work, and some people have to go to school. Even if someone does not work or study, they still have places that they need to go. These days, there are many ways to get around such as bus, train, bicycle, car, and so on. Some people think about convenience, but some people are concerned about money. Taking a bus is the one choice that a lot of people choose. There are three reasons to take a bus. These include saving money, saving time, and saving the environment.

The first reason to take a bus is saving money. The most important thing why taking a bus save money is people who take a bus don’t have to purchase the car and maintenance. They don’t need to buy the car and don’t need to pay a lot of money to take care their car. For example, drivers sometimes have to bring their car to check the machine, and they have to pay for service. Also, drivers have to pay when they bring their car to wash. Moreover, people who take a bus don’t have to pay their money for gas and parking permit. They pay only fare that is cheaper than gas and parking permit. Besides gas and parking permit, insurance is the cost that drivers have to pay. Furthermore, many people suffer from ticket. People sometimes do something illegal when they drive. For instance, some people sometimes hurry to go and ignore to notice stop sign. Some drivers too busy and don’t see stop sign or other sign, so they do not follow the traffic law. Therefore, they usually get the ticket from the police. Also, cost of ticket is quite expensive. Due to above reasons people who take a bus don’t have to spend a lot of money for many things.

The second reason to take a bus is saving time. People who take a bus don’t have to waste their time finding parking. Although people who drive reach their place faster than people who take a bus, they have to find parking. Drivers sometimes have to spend a lot of time finding parking especially in business hour. They may need time more than people who take a bus. There is a good example for this case. Some drivers have to wake up early in the morning. They have to work at 8.00 am, but they cannot go to work almost 8.00 am because they cannot find parking at that time. Therefore, they have to arrive their work around 7.00 am to 7.30 am because that time is easy to find parking. On the other hand, people who take a bus can go to work almost 8.00 am because when they get off the bus, they can walk to work immediately. Also, people who take a bus will not get lost. Drivers may waste their time for finding the correct way. For example, Drivers sometimes may drive to the wrong way because they think about other things when they drive, or they have to go to the new way that they have never gone before. When they go to the wrong way, they have to spend time finding the right way. In contrast, people who take a bus are not going to face this problem. Moreover, taking a bus help to reduce traffic jam. If everyone drives, there are a lot of cars on the road. Certainly, everybody will face the terrible traffic and has to spend more time on their way.

The final reason to take a bus is saving the environment. Taking a bus can help community to save for environmental pollution. It helps to decrease smog. When people drive, the cars will release carbon dioxide that affect global warming. Also, global warming can cause many problems. Furthermore, taking a bus stop wasting gas. If people drive, they have to use gas for their car. Therefore, people who take a bus do not need to use gas for car. It can save oil because gasoline is produced from oil. In addition, if many people take a bus, they are going to need fewer roads and freeways. The government does not have to build the huge roads and freeways, so they don’t have to cut many trees. Therefore, people who take a bus can help their country to save a lot of trees. Clearly, taking a bus can save the environment for many reasons.

In conclusion, there are many good reasons to take a bus. Some people care about their money. Some people do not want to waste their time finding parking. Also, people sometimes take a bus because they do not know the way exactly, and they do not want to go to the wrong way because they do not want to spend a lot of time going back to the right way. Someone think that taking a bus can help to reduce the problem about a lot of traffic jam because they do not want to spend more time on the road. A lot of people really care about environmental problem. They don’t want to be a person who causes a lot of pollution. They know that a lot of cars can make a lot of pollution. They do not want to use gas because they want to save oil. Also, they do not want the huge roads and freeways because they do not want to destroy many trees. Taking a bus has many advantages. It can help not only people but also environment. Therefore, taking a bus is a better way for many reasons.

What are you going to do over the 3 day weekend?

The Three Days Weekend.

There is nothing special that I am going to do over the 3 days weekend. I don't think about this weekend, so I still don't have plan to do anything. However, when I knew that I have to write journal about what am I going to do this weekend, I just though about this. Now I have a little bit plan, but it is quite boring. The first day of weekend, I am going to finish my homework that I think I have to do it all day because I have a lot of homework. Many teachers like to give students too much homework in long weekend except my composition teacher. He always wants students write three journals every week although we don't have long weekend. If I can finish my homework on this Saturday, I can do other things on other days. The second day of weekend, I am going to do chores around the house such as washing the dishes, washing my clothes, cleaning bathroom, and so on. Since I live with my aunt, I have to help her to do chores. If I live with my parents now, I will not worry about this. I can ignore it. The last day of weekend, I will go to the mall. I just want to look some clothes. I am not going to buy anything because I knew that every mall will give the customers a big discount when the day after Thanksgiving. Therefore, I will wait until that day. However, I want to go to the mall this weekend because someone told me that on Thanksgiving many people are going to go to the mall early in the morning. When the mall open, a lot of people will hurry to go inside and take every thing that they like as quick as possible. I may don't have enough time looking for something. I will go to the mall before that day, and I will decide my mind that what I want. Also, I will try to wear the clothes that I like because I have to know that it is look good for me or not, and I have to know the size that suitable for me. Therefore, I can go to the mall on Thanksgiving, and I can take everything that I want quickly because I already knew what I want. In conclusion, I have three main things to do on this weekend even though it is not so exciting.

Thanksgiving

There are three things that I most thankful for. First, I would like to thank for my parents. My parents are the first people who I really want to thank. They always give me everything that I want or necessary for me. They give me not only things, but also knowledge. Moreover, the most important thing that they always give me is love. Also, I could not come to the United Stated and have studied at ALP if I don't have my parents support. Although I have to write three journals every week, I still feel happy that my parents support me to study at ALP. Second, I really want to thank for my aunt who I stay in her home now. She is a person who recommends me to study at ALP. When I lived in my country, and I want to study English language at the US, I called my aunt to find the university for me. Also, she went to the ALP office, and she sent some information about ALP to me in Thailand. Furthermore, she has permitted me to stay at her home during I am studying here. Even though I have to pay for her, it is cheaper than rent an apartment. Also, it is more comfortable than live in apartment. Finally, I would like to thank for my destiny. It makes me to meet many good things and many good experiences in my life. Though I sometimes have a problem, I usually can deal with it. Therefore, I like to say that thank you so much my destiny. It usually makes me decide my mind and correct the problem in the right way. I can face every problem because I believe in my destiny. In addition, my destiny makes me to study at ALP and meet my nice classmates and very kind teachers. Is it ever okay to lie? In which circumstances?

Is It Okay to Lie?

It is okay to lie in some reasons. First, lie to save other feeling. We sometimes have to lie because we don't want other to worry about us. Also, we don't want to hurt other. Therefore, we sometimes should not tell the truth. For example, when we don't live with our parents, we usually call them. Also, when we call them, they usually like to ask us about our health. We should tell them that we are fine although we sometimes really get sick because we don't want they to worry. Second, Lie to help ourselves. We are not selfish, but we lie because we don't want to get some troubles. We want to avoid from the problems. However, we should make sure that we don't hurt other or make other to get some bad effect because we lie. For instance, we sometimes come to class late. We often tell the teacher that we face a lot of traffic jam even though we oversleep. Since we don't want to have a problem. However, we can lie to help ourselves, but it is going to be okay in sometime not several times. We should improve ourselves. Therefore, we don't need to lie about this problem again. Finally, lie to help other. We really care about other, so we sometimes lie to help them. For example, when our friend absent, we usually tell the teacher that they get sick, or they have the important thing to do. However, this kind of lie is not good in some situations because we may help people who make guilty become guiltlessness. Moreover, they may make same guilty again because they don't get any punishment. If we lie to help other that do in wrong way, we should tell them that don't do it again. Also, we should not lie to help them become guiltlessness more than one time. Indeed, there are many situations that no problem to lie.

Does it matter what strangers think of you? Do you care if everyone likes you or are you content just being yourself? Write a paragraph explaining your answer.

It does not a matter what strangers think of me because they are just strangers. I don't know they, and they don't know me too. Therefore, I don't care what they think of me. I content just being myself. When I think that I do in correct way, it does not a matter if someone doesn't like me. If I care about everyone likes me or not, I have to pretend to do something that it is not my behavior. That is mean I fake. Moreover, I think that I cannot make everyone likes me. Since, everyone has many opinions and ideas. Also, everyone has many styles. When I do something, someone may like it. However, someone may don't like it anymore. If I care about strangers, I am going to be nervous. I feel happy to be myself. If strangers like me, it is good. If they don't like me, it is not a problem. I am not a egoist, but I am so proud of myself. I am not mean, but I don't want to change my behavior or my style for strangers. However, I care about my parents and my friends. If they don't like me, I am going to feel sad. Also, I will adapt myself for my parents and my friends. In conclusion, I like to be myself, and I don't care about strangers. A Dancer

One full moon night in the rainy season, a man who lived in an apartment on the 13th floor felt alone and bored. His apartment had lost electricity because of the thunderstorm. Therefore, he held a candle in his hand and then put it on the table. Suddenly, the window was opened by the wind. Then he tried to close the window. At that moment, he looked at the opposite building, and he saw a woman who was dancing. However, he couldn’t see her clearly because there was the heavy rain. Strangely, he didn’t see her again until the next full moon, and she was still dancing. She wore a white dress, and she danced like a butterfly. He fell in love with her and really wanted to meet her. In the next morning, he went to her apartment, but no one answered the door. Next time when he saw her in full moon night again, he ran to her apartment immediately. He knocked on the door, and he waited for her. A few minutes later, he knocked again, and the door opened slowly. He went inside slowly and saw a dirty room with old furniture and many spider webs. The room smelled disgusting. When he walked into the room where she was dancing, he couldn’t believe his eyes. There was an empty room except for a noose swinging back and forth by the wind.

ALP Halloween Party

On ALP Halloween party night, many ALP students came to party and wore the costume. Besides ALP students, ALP staffs and teachers came to party too. The party started 8.00 pm and finished at midnight. Somebody liked to wear a ghostly costume, but somebody liked to look great. Therefore, they wore a beautiful costume such as princely costume, angelic costume. ALP provided some foods for students. There are many kinds of food that we can chose for eating, e.g., California roll, sandwiches, spring roll, cookies, and soda. This party was dancing party, so most people spent more time dancing. I went there a little bit late about 8.45 pm because I waited for my friend. When I arrived there, the first what I did was eating. After that, I talked to my classmate and took a picture together. After that, I and my friends danced, but I danced a little bit. I could not join the party until midnight because I had to go back home with my friend. Also, my friend wanted to go back home about 11.00 pm. Therefore, I didn't know what happened after I went back. However, I can tell you that what you missed. First, you missed to have free dinner. This was the most important thing that you missed. Second, you missed to dance with your intelligent student. Third, you missed to see your student wore scary costume. You can see the pictures, but they are just the pictures. They are not the real. Finally, you missed to face the great atmosphere on that day. Indeed, you missed a lot of things, but you should feel sad a little bit not too much because you have a chance to go to Halloween party next year. Don't miss Halloween party next year!!!

I am going to Las Vegas this weekend. If you were going to Las Vegas, where would you go and what would you do? Lastly, do you have any suggestions on how I can win a lot of money? Which games do you like to play?

Activities in Las Vegas

If I have a chance to go to Las Vagas, I will see some shows at night. I heard that Las Vegas is the best entertainment place of USA. I want to see broadway shows, magic shows, and sexy dancers. Also, I want to go to casino. Since I haven't gone there before, and I want to gamble. Also, I want to play with my destiny. I really want to know that I can win a game or absolutely lose. I believe that I am lucky in game. I cannot tell you how to win a lot of money because I don't have any experience about this. However, I would like to tell you that you should not trick because every casino has many security cameras. They will know that you are tricking. There were many people try to trick, but they were punished. You can win a lot of money or not depend on your destiny. However, I can suggest you one thing. If you want to go to casino, you should bring a lot of money. I am pretty sure that you have to use it. If you are married, you should tell your couple before because you may lose a lot of money, and you want to stay there all day and all night. Another suggestion, you can go to see the witch and ask her that you will get or lose a lot of money. After that, you can decide your mind that you want to go to casino or not. However, if I go there, I would like to play slot machine. Since slot machine is easy to play. I don't have to think a lot when I play slot machine. I just put the coin and push. If I play other games such as blackjack and poker, I have to think a lot that how I can win. It can make me nervous. Besides easy to play, slot machine also give me the result so fast. When you play slot machine, you will know the result immediate after you put the coins and push. Lastly, there are many interesting places that you can go in Las Vegas. Also, there are many activities that you can do besides go to casino and play games.

Compare and contrast two sports.

The Similarities and Differences of Basketball and Soccer

Although basketball and soccer are similar in many ways, there are quite a few differences. There are four similarities between these two sports. First similarity is team work. Both basketball and soccer are sports that have to play by team. They cannot play these two sports by only one person. Also, they have to form a good team and each coach's tactic. They have to plan for team arrangement and playing style. The second similarity is how to make score to be more than the competitor to win. When they play soccer, they have to change the playing area after the first half break. Coach can replace the player during the game if they think that the game tactic should be changed, or coach think that another player is better in that situation. Besides many similarities, there are four differences way between basketball and soccer. The first difference is the place for playing. They have to play the soccer outdoor, whereas the basketball is almost played indoor. Second, the numbers of player in team are totally different between these two sports. They need eleven players for playing soccer. In contrast, the basketball needs only five players. Third, there are quite difference in method to play. They use only feet for playing soccer, while they have to use only hands for playing basketball. Finally, soccer has a goal keeper to protect the goal, but basketball don't have goal keeper. In conclusion, these two sports have both many similarities and differences ways to play. However, not only soccer but also basketball are good for health.

The Similarities and Differences of Subway Restaurant and Quiznos Sub

Although Subway Restaurant and Quiznos Sub are similar in many ways, there are big differences. There are three similarities between these two fast food restaurants. The first similarity is the main type of food. Both Subway Restaurant and Quiznos Sub are the restaurants that sell submarine sandwiches. Second, Subway Restaurant guarantee that the food is fresh, and Quiznos Sub is too. The food is made to order and fresh everyday not only Subway Restaurant but also Quiznos Sub. Finally, Subway Restaurant is a fast food sandwich franchise, just as Quiznos Sub is. We can see a little bit similarities between these two fast food restaurants. However, there are big differences between Subway Restaurant and Quiznos Sub. The first difference is the way to cook the sandwiches. The sandwiches are toasted at the Quiznos Sub although they sometimes are not toasted because the customers don't want. However, Quiznos Sub specializes in toasted submarine sandwiches. On the other hand, toasted sandwiches are not the main at the Subway Restaurant. The second difference is the delivery service. Subway has the delivery service. You can call them, and the food will be delivered to you. However, Quiznos Sub does not have the delivery service. The third difference is that Subway Restaurant care and advertise about healthy food, while Quiznos Sub don't advertise and mention about healthy food. There are a lot of menu at Subway Restaurant that are reduced fat and calories. Fourth, you can eat pizza at Subway Restaurant. In contrast, you cannot find pizza at Quiznos Sub anymore. King Chulalongkorn, Rama V was the fifth king of Thailand. He got enthroned when he was a child because his father died. He made many differences to his country in many ways. First, he established an education system because he liked to study, and he knew that education is necessary. He was the first king of Thailand who had a western education. He brought the education system from the west into Thailand. Also, he set up many schools and universities. One of many schools’ name is Suankularb. Suankularb is school that still is well known today. Also, Chulalongkorn University is the first university that was established by him, and it is the best university in Thailand. He gave Thai people the knowledge that education can help us to improve our life. He wanted Thai people have a lot of knowledge. Otherwise Thai people would be taken advantage of by foreigners. Second, He established a railway system. Therefore, Thai people got convenient transportation because before that time Thailand had only ox, carts, and elephants to transport. That was an inconvenient way. Also, Thai people had to spend a lot of time to go to other places before we had a railway system. Moreover, he established and set a communication system. Finally, he released the slaves. He gave slaves freedom and education. The first time a lot of people who had the slaves didn’t understand, and they fought. How to Make Thai Prawn Soup with Lemon Grass

Thai prawn soup with lemon grass is very delicious and not difficult to make it. You need twenty raw prawns, soup stock, lemon grass, galangal, fish sauce, straw mushroom, shredded kaffir lime leaves, lime juice, fresh Thai chili peppers, roasted chili in oil, and fresh coriander. You also need a cup, a tablespoon, and a pot. First, wash the prawns and peel. Then bring four to five cups of soup stock to a boil and add about two tablespoons of sliced lemon grass, 1/3 cup of sliced galangal, and six to eight of kaffir lime leaves. Next, bring it back to a boil. After it heat, add about 1/2 cup of straw mushroom, four tablespoons of fish sauce, two tablespoons of roasted chili in oil, and four tablespoons of lime juice. Stir the soup a few minutes until ingredients are mixed through the soup. After ingredients are mixed well, you can taste. If it still not delicious for you, you can add fish sauce, roasted chili in oil, and lime juice more. Let it heat through again, and then you can add prawns and fresh Thai chili peppers. When the Thai prawn soup with lemon grass is cooked through, prawns should turn pink. After that, you can serve it. Don't forget to garnish with coriander. It can make your menu become a special. Losing your weight 10 pounds in two days can possible if you follow these steps. The first step is to control your breakfast and lunch. You have to eat breakfast and lunch a little bit. Also, you cannot eat meat and some foods that contain more fat and cholesterol such as pizza, hamburger, French Fried, etc. You have to eat only some fruits and vegetables. You cannot eat some fruits that contain a lot of sugar because it can make you gain weight, for example, grape, mango, and durian. Also, you cannot eat some vegetables that contain more carbohydrate, for instance, potato and taro. Second, leave your dinner. You cannot eat anything in dinner except water. I have many embarrassing experiences in my life. However, I am going to pick one experience that I think it was most embarrassing moment. In my country Thailand, we have to wear uniform to go to the university. Men have to wear white shirt and black pants. Women have to wear white shirt and black or blue skirt. We can wear both short and long skirt. My university is located far from the main street, so many people take a motorcycle in front of the university to go to the main street. I usually also take a motorcycle. I cannot remember exactly date of my most embarrassing moment, but I can remember that it happened in my first year at the university. On that day, I went to the university same as everyday. I wore long skirt. Also, I took a motorcycle. When I took a motorcycle, I stepped on my skirt. After that, I fell because my skirt is too long. Nobody came to help me. There was only rider. He asked me that "Are you OK?", and I said I am OK. I didn't want to talk to him or other people anymore. Also, I didn't want to see a lot of people around me. However, just one moment I saw many people around me. I saw they looked at me and talked something. I was angry and embarrassed. I known they gossip me. I wanted to escape from the eyes of a lot of people that looking at me. I picked up my bag, and I hurried up to walk to go to the university. I didn't take a motorcycle. On this day, Celt would turn off fire in their houses, and they wore ghost clothes and walked around neighborhood. They believed that this action can destroy spirit that looking for some bodies to own. America has known about custom of Haloween by Irish immigrants in the 1840's. People have believed that origin of the custom of trick-or-treating came from souling. Souling was a European custom. On this day, Chistian would walk to each other house and begged for soul cake that was made from square pieces of bread and currants. Who received soul cake would pray for donate. Also, they believed that it can hurry to send the soul to the heaven. In the past, people used turnip in Halloween. Since there is tale about a man named Jack who has known that liked to drink and tricked Satan. He trapped Satan on the tree, and he made a promise with Satan. If Satan has never tempt again, he will give Satan the freedom. After Jack died, he could not go to the heaven because he drank a lot. However, he didn't go to the hell because he tricked Satan. Also, Satan gave him the ember that was put in hollow of turnip to bring him through the darkness way. Therefore, Irish used turnip in Jack-o-lantern custom. However, when the immigrants came to USA. They met that pumpkin can find easily than turnip. Therefore, America has used pumpkin instead of turnip in Halloween. In the present, people just celebrate Halloween for fun. There are many activities in this day such as trick-or-treating, costume parties, and ghost tours. Trick-or-treating is an activity of children. The children will wear ghost costume and walk to each house. They will ask for treats that "trick or treat?" Also, adults will give children candy or chocolate. Besides trick-or-treating that is activity of children, there is costume parties for adults. The most people will wear fancy dress to go to the party. There are many kinds of fancy dress. Some people like to wear ghost dress, and someone like to wear beautiful dress, e.g., prince or princess dress. Also, popular movies and books are relate to costume party. My Experience at Universal Studios

Last Saturday, I went to Universal Studios with my ALP colleague. I used to come here ten years ago when I was a child. Therefore, I was very excited because I could not remember anything about Universal Studios. When we arrived there, the first thing what we did was take a photo. After that, we went to inside Universal Studios. We separated from a big group. I went with my classmate. I, Paula, Ann, and Carol went together. We had limit time, so we had to plan before we start to play some playing machine. we started at House of Horrors. It was so scary. I sometime closed my eyes and escaped behind my friend. I hurried to walk because I wanted to get out there quickly. Next, all of us agreed with each other to go to Revenge of the Mummy. It was so terrible. I screamed, and I thought everyone there screamed too. Then we went to Julassic Park because there is near to Revenge of the Mummy. It was so beautiful and amazing. Also, we got wet. I saw dinosaurs close to my face. However, I like there a little bit because I don't want to get wet. It made me felt cold. Then we saw pyrotechnics show at Backdraft. We still didn't stop only this. We went to see special effects stages. We known that how Universal made special effects. About 1.00 pm, we had lunch together. We ate Chinese food at Panda Express. After lunch, we saw Shrek and Donky 4-D. I really like it. I could see action close to my seat. Finally, we went to Studio Tour. We sat on the tram and saw a lot of magic of Hollywood. After we finished this tour, we didn't have enough time to go to other where. Therefore, we went out, and we met our composition teacher, Mr. Jimmy Simpson, at the exit. We took a photo with our teacher. After that, we took a shutter bus to go back to ALP office. I had fun on this day. Indeed, if I have a chance, I will go there again.

There are many rooms in my house, but the room that I really like and usually spend a lot of time there is my bedroom. If you want to see a fantastic place, welcome to my white bedroom. However, don't try to open it because you may meet some animal such as snake or mouse. I don't want to tell you about my clothes-press anymore. I think you know why I don't want to talk about this. I am so sorry about that! I promise that I will try to clean it. Let go outside the bathroom. Opposite my bed, you are going to see a television. It is placed on the counter. If you see at the center of my bedroom, you are going to see a rug on the floor. I like to sit there when I watch the television. I designed my bedroom by myself. However, my mother want me to put a big mirror at the doorway. She has believed that it can make me lucky. All in all, eventhough my bedroom sometime is very messy, it is still my favorite room.

Weddings in My Country
In my country Thailand, has continued traditional wedding from the past until present. Weddings in Thailand different from other countries in the world. The most people are going to engage before marry. How long people engage before they get marry. This question cannot answer because depend on each other. Some people maybe engage about 3 months, 6 month, 1 year, or more than. Also, some people engage in the morning and marry in the evening. When they engage, they are going to have ceremony. Engagement in Thailand is not only man give moman the ring, but they have to tell their parents and relative. They sometime tell their friend. Everyone who have close relation with who want to engage will come to be eyewitness in engaging ceremony. The man and woman will give each other the ring in this day. Also, the man is going to give woman's parents "sinsod", or some money and gold, to show that thank you for take care his engagement from the child until become adult and get marry. In wedding day, the most people always will have ceremony both in the morning and evening. In the morning, they have Thai traditional ceremony. Bride and groom are going to wear Thai traditional cloth. They will sit on the chair and put their hands on the table. Then their parents will bring conch shell that contain water pour on their hands, and give them the greeting. After that, relative and friends will continue this. Due to the most people in Thailand respect Buddhist, so they always invite the monk come to wedding ceremony. They usually invite the monk to be odd number, e.g., 3,5,7,or 9 people. In the evening, They always have party. The most people usually like to make party at the hotel. Bride and groom are going to wear western clothes. Their parents and people who have close relation with bride and groom will give them the greeting and something that useful for living together. They always have time to send bride and groom to their bedroom. Since Thai has a belief that bride and groom have to go to the bedroom in a good time in wedding day. Also, they cannot out of their bedroom in that night. They have to live there until next morning. Thai believe that if they out of their bedroom in the night of wedding day, they are going to meet bad thing and have to separate soon. However, everything that are described above are only traditional. Wedding will complete and correct the legal if they go to "Amphur", the place that bride and groom can sign paper. In summary,wedding day is the most important day in a person's life.

Today, I was selected as a possible juror (someone who performs jury duty). However, the court decided that they already had enough jurors. Part of me wishes that I could have participated in the case to see what it is like in the courtroom. However, part of me is glad that I don't have to miss class (because of my wonderful students and also the money).

In America, the legal system includes lawyers, judges, and jurors. How does the legal system work in your country? Who decides whether a person is innocent or guilty?

The Legal System in Thailand
The legal system in each country may be similar or different, but in my country Thailand, the legal system has persisted form the past until present. It is quite different if compare with America. While in America, there are lawyers, judges, and jurors, in Thailand, there are only judges and lawyers, but there is no juror. Lawyers perform their work the same as the other countries. They have to investigate and find many reasons and events to prove that the suspect is guilty or not. This needs reasonable evidence. Also, in law court they have to use high psychology to investigate person who is opposite side until they feel nervous. Therefore, people often feel do not confident when they are investigated by lawyer. Also, if they made guity, they sometime will talk the truth. That makes lawyers success in their career. Judges are the one who make decision that person is innocent or guity. Judges have to consider from event and evidence. There are three level courts in Thailand. If the people disagree with first court decision of judge, they can go to petition with higher court. Also, if they still disgree, they can go to petition with highest court. People cannot do anything after decision of Dika court, or highest court of Thailand. People have to respect and follow decision of judge in highest court without any argument. However, if the suspect wants to go to petition with the second and third court, they have to have more evidence than they prove in first court. I think that the legal system in Thailand is still not good enough. Since judge is only one person who can consider and deliver judgement to the suspects that they are innocent or guilty.

Tell me about your dream vacation. Where would you like to go and why? What sort of things would you like to see and do?

My Dream Vacation
If I have a long vacation, I would like to go back to my country Thailand. I miss everything in my country. I would like to meet my parents and my friends. I think I have gotten homesick. I would like to go to Nakornsritammarath province with my friends. It is a biggest province of the southern Thailand. Somebody maybe think that the south of Thailand is so dangerous now because there is the news about some people's group has killed people there. However, Nakornsritammarath is safe. This province has never had dangerous event. I have many reasons why I want to go there. First, there are many interesting places. There are mountain, waterfall, and beach in one province. Morever, there are a lot of temples and opencut tin mine. Second, I like to eat "SATOR", kind of vegetable that has green color, strong smell, and we have to peel for eating seed inside. Nakornsritammarath people are celebrated for their SATOR. I can easy find SATOR to eat there, and it is a cheaper than other province. The most people in southern Thailand really like spicy food, and I like spicy food too. Therefore, I can eat a lot of spicy food. I think spicy food is very delicious. I don't want to talk about food more because it makes me hungry and want to eat now. Third, I feel comfortable to travel in my country because I can speak my language. Also, I can understand traditions and cultures of people there. Besides language and tradition, familiar weather is another reason that why I feel comfortable. I have gone to France. It is so cool, and there is rain almost all the time. I could not go to somewhere. I had to wait in the hotel for a long time. The most important finally, I don't want to spend my money to go to other country. I want my money is used in Thailand! I hope I will have a long vacation soon, and I am going to make my dream come true.

My Activity on the Weekend
Last weekend, I went to Knott’s Berry Farm with my friends. I felt a little bit excited during traveling. When we arrived there, the first thing what we did was looking for the restroom. After that, I asked my friends that would you like to play the playing machines. Everybody said “OK”. I played only some playing machines, e.g., Roller coaster, Revolution, and Supreme scream. Then I felt very headache. I wanted to vomit. I didn’t know what was happening with me. My friends came to see me and told me that my face became pale, maybe the cause came from playing machine. I wanted to take a rest because I could not play it more. Therefore, I waited for my friends at the public bench. Meanwhile, my friends still had needed to play more playing machines. After everybody was so tired, we had lunch there together. My friend brought some food from her house for everyone. After lunch, I felt better. Therefore, we played rapidly Bigfoot, and we got wet. We didn't stop only this eventhough we felt very tired. We still walked to see snoopy camp show. It was very interesting. About 5.00 pm, we went out and went to McDonald where near to Knott's Berry Farm. I bought cheeseburger and french fried. After I finished cheeseburger and french fried, I still wanted to eat something. Therefore, I bought ice cream and enjoyed it. I like vanilla. After that, we went to Korean supermarket and bought some Korean food. Then we went to my friend's house, and we cooked dinner. We had dinner there together. Eventhough I felt a little bit full, I could eat more. All of us enjoyed Korean food on that day. We felt so tired but very happy. If we have a chance and suitable time, we will go there again.

My Unforgettable Experience
My family and relative were almost rob and killed. I went to the beach with my parents and relative in holiday. We had to go at night time because my uncle had to work until 8 pm. My uncle drove a van, and all of us sat together. While we were on the way, there were two cars park across the road. Therefore, we had not enough of driving lane. Suddenly, my uncle drove out of the road to side road. Then he tried to bring the van turn to driving lane again after he drove pass those cars. It was so exciting and terrible for us. If my uncle could not control the van, we could get accident. First time, we didn't know what was happening. However, my uncle told us that on that time his subconcious told him that he shouldn't stop the van. Therefore, he kept driving. After we arrived the beach and checked in for the hotel, we told hotel's manager about this event. Then he told us that we were very lucky. If we stopped the van, we will be rob. Also, maybe we can be killed if we fight. Since there were events like this happened before. If my uncle decided to stop the van on that day, you maybe don't meet me today. This was my experience that I could not forget. Now I still exactly remember about this event, and I think that it is going to be in my remembrance forever.

My Favorite Season

I like spring and fall. One reason why I like spring and fall because both seasons are not so cool and so hot. The weather in spring and fall make me feel good and comfortable. However, if I have to choose only one season, I am going to choose spring is my best favorite season. In my opinion, the best one is spring because fall can make me feel sad. I often feel sad when I see leaves fall on the ground. I dislike summer because it is so hot and so sunny. I have to use sunblock in summer that I don't like because I am going to feel sticky and uncomfortable. Also, I dislike winter because I feel lazy in winter. I want to turn on heater and sit in my house for a long time. I don't want to do anything, and I don't want to wake up early in the morning. I have to wear very thick clothes in winter that make me look like a fat person. I like the weather in spring, and I don't need to wear very thick clothes. I can do many activities all day in spring because I don't feel lazy. Also, spring is not so hot, so I can work for a long time. If I feel very hot, I cannot do a lot of activities. Because I can easy feel so tired if the weather is so hot, and I have a lot of sweat. Moreover, I like flower. I like to see and smell flower. I can see many kind of flowers in spring. Most flowers begin to grow and bloom in spring that make me feel fresh and happy. Also, I like to see rainbow. I can see rainbow after rain. It is a beautiful. I cannot see rainbow in other seasons except spring because there is not almost rain in other seasons. Due to above reasons spring is my best favorite season.

Letter to the Dean

Dear Dean,

My name is Supisa Somto. I am an ALP student. This is my second semester. Now I am studying level 4C. I really like fun lunch time because I can talk with my friend, teacher, conversation partner, and ALP officer. I can make the new friends from diiferent level. I can practice speaking and listening English. Also, ALP always provide sodas and water for us. I usually like to drink soda, so this is a great time for me. Moreover, I like to play volleyball with my friend. I always want to participate fun lunch. I would like to have a good relation with other people. The important things to have a good relation are spend time to talk and have activity with other people. I think that fun lunch is a good time that I can make many good things. I usually join fun lunch in summer semester. I have a fantastic time in fun lunch. However, I can join fun lunch only an half hour in this semester because my class schedules not suitable for enjoying fun lunch. Fun lunch time start from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm. Also, I have class from 8.00 am until 10.50 am, and I have to study again at 11.30 am until 12.45 pm on Wednesday. Therefore, I have time about thirty minutes to go to fun lunch. In my opinion an half hour not enough for me because I cannot do something. For instance, I cannot play volleyball because I have a little bit time. Things that I can do are just sit on the blanket and drink sodas. Also, I can talk to other people, but just a little bit because I have to prepare to study next class. I would like to participate all program that ALP provide for us because I think that it is interesting and useful for me. I would like to have more time to meet and have activity in fun lunch. Would you please to consider about my class schedules? I hope you can change my class schedules. I really appreciate.

A Person Who Has Made a Differece : King Chulalongkorn, Rama V
The Fifth King of the Chakri Dynasty

King Chulalongkorn, Rama V was the fifth king of Thailand. He got enthroned when he was a child because his father died. He made many differences to his country in many ways. First, he established an education system because he liked to study, and he knew that education is necessary. He was the first king of Thailand who had a western education. He brought the education system from the west into Thailand. Also, he set up many schools and universities. One of many schools’ name is Suankularb. Suankularb is school which still is well known today. Also, Chulalongkorn University is the first university that was established by him, and it is the best university in Thailand. He gave Thai people the knowledge that education can help us to improve our life. He wanted Thai people have a lot of knowledge. Otherwise Thai people would be taken advantage of by foreigners. Second, He established a railway system. Therefore, Thai people got convenient transportation because before that time Thailand had only ox, carts, and elephants to transport. That was an inconvenient way. Also, Thai people had to spend a lot of time to go to other places before we had a railway system. Moreover, he established and set a communication system. Finally, he released the slaves. He gave slaves freedom and education. The first time a lot of people who had the slaves didn’t understand, and they fought. Therefore, he tried to explain that everyone has equal rights. Ultimately everyone understood and agreed with him. He was the first Thailand king who got the title, “Maharaj”, after his name. This title is given to a person who done many important and useful things. In conclusion, he made a lot of differences and brought Thailand into the civilized world. This is why the Thai people love and respect him.

My Favorite Sport

My favorite sports are tennis and table tennis. However, I like table tennis more than tennis because I have to play tennis outdoor that sometime is so sunny. Therefore, I like table tennis more because I can play table tennis indoor. I can play table tennis with my friend even though we just have two people. I don’t have to find a lot of people for playing. That is good because people sometime are so busy, so they cannot play sport. For example, if I want to play volleyball, I have to find a lot of people for playing with me. I don’t spend a lot of money for playing table tennis. That is one reason why I like table tennis. Some sports we have to spend a lot of money for playing, for instance, we have to buy swimming suit, swimming hat, and swimming grass for swimming that is so expensive. I can use all part of body for playing table tennis especially eyes. I have to look table tennis ball all the time when I play. I have a fun time when I play table tennis. Also, respect and sportsmanship are things that I receive from sport.

My name is Supisa Somto. My nickname is Peach. I come from Bangkok, Thailand. I was born in 1983. I am a single person. I am a Buddhist. Now I live with my aunt at Placentia. My email is Supisa_peach@hotmail.com. I have two parents. I have no brother and sister; only child. I like to watch television and movie in free time. Also, I like to travel. I like Thai and Japanese food. I got Bachelor Degree in 2003, and Master Degree in 2005 at Silpakorn University. My major is Food technology. I had worked at food industry in Thailand for 1 year. I worked about research and development product. Now I have a part time job at the food court in CSUF. I can speak Thai and English language. However, I sometime have a problem about listening English maybe somebody have a different pronunciation. I can use statistical program; SPSS and SAS.
